Network and firewall protection in Windows

You may check the status of Microsoft Defender Firewall and see which networks your device is connected to using Windows Security's Firewall & network protection feature.

Configuring The Network
You will be sent to the appropriate settings page when you choose one of the three network types. In this case, Windows Security will reveal whether you are currently connected to any such networks. Typically, your computer will only have one network active at once.

Additionally on the page about network protection and firewalls:
Allow an app to pass through the firewall - If the firewall is preventing you from using an app that you truly need, you may make an exception for it or open a particular port. Risks of enabling applications past Microsoft Defender Firewall has further information about that procedure (and reasons why you might not want to).

Network and Internet troubleshooter - You may use this troubleshooter to attempt to automatically diagnose and solve any general network connectivity difficulties you may be experiencing.

Advanced settings - If you are familiar with firewall settings, this will launch the standard Windows Defender Firewall interface, allowing you to define inbound or outbound rules and connection security.
